GE-branded Max Shield All Weather Advanced Polymer Acrylic Latex is a premium sealant ideal for projects exposed to severe weather and harsh environments. Formulated with Tri Shield protection, this sealant is 100% waterproof, and offers exceptional flexibility, excellent adhesion to a wide variety of building materials, and lifetime mold-free product protection. Max Shield sealant can span up to 3-inch gaps with over 800% stretch and 35% joint movement. This sealant can be paint-ready in as little as 45-minutes for quick workflow, and is low in odor, guns out effortlessly, tools smoothly, and cleans-up easily with soap and water. Stretches over 800%: Based on ASTM C-920, TYPE-S, NS, CLASS 35 analysis, product can span gaps of up to 3-inches wide and ½ inch deep with over 800% stretch and 35% joint movement.

Lifetime Mold-Free: Fully cured sealant is resistant to stain-causing mold and mildew. Regular cleaning of sealant is required, as soap and other residue may cause secondary mold and mildew growth.

45-Minute Paint Ready: Sealant can be painted or exposed to water in as little as 45 minutes with bead size max 3/16”, temperature min 65°F & humidity min 50%. Otherwise, sealant should not be painted for 3 hours or exposed to water for 24 hours. Do not touch for 24 hours, unless applying paint. Apply paint with reduced applicator pressure to avoid disturbing the sealant. Clean-up with a damp, disposable cloth; do not rinse.

  1. Remove dirt, grease, moisture, soap residue & old sealant from area to be sealed.  Use backer rod for gaps larger than 1/2" x 1/2". 
  2. Cut nozzle to obtain desired bead size.
  3. Using caulk gun, apply caulk into gap. Apply above 40°F (5°C).
  4. Smooth or “tool” the caulk into gap within 3-5 minutes.
  5. Clean-up with a damp, disposable cloth; do not rinse.
  6. Protect from moisture for at least 24 hours for proper drying.
Exceeds ASTM C-920, Type-S, NS, Class 35 Use NT, G, A, M & O test and Federal Spec TT-S-00230C, Type II, Class A test requirements. Exceeds ASTM C834 -18°C test requirements.
